Alley Kat
Biography & Highlights
You'll hear the bass thumping right through the brick before you even spot the neon sign down the Main Street block in Midtown. The door guy takes your cover with a grunt and stamps your hand with faded ink that won't wash off till Sunday. It's dark as hell inside, just red bulbs glowing over a sticky bar top where people are already spilling craft IPAs and yelling over the sound check.
The stage is barely raised off the floor, tucked in the back corner right next to the restrooms. You're standing shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers who brought their dogs and wear beat-up sneakers. The sound guy is chain-smoking out the back alley door while local noise bands test their pedals. It's loud, hot, and you'll lose your friends by the second song because cell service drops dead the second you cross the threshold.
Bartenders don't care about your cocktail order, they just want a five-dollar bill and your attention so they can slide a Lonestar across the wood. There's no green room, so the headliners tune their guitars right beside you at the picnic tables. By midnight, the floor's soaked in spilled beer and the bathroom door is hanging off its latch.
